How to use ChatGPT for marketing

Discover everything you need to know about ChatGPT and how you can use it for marketing

You’ve surely heard of it by now. ChatGPT. The new kid on the digital marketing block. The one your fancy neighbours Google are watching like a hawk and have launched a new feature ‘Bard’ in response to it.

You may have heard of it, but do you know what it actually is? And is it worth the hype? And ultimately as marketers, should we be cowering under our desks as our jobs are performed effortlessly by the chatbots ‘of the future’ that iRobot would be proud of? Or should we be embracing it and using it collaboratively, which is what we recommend.

Don’t panic. In this Quick Win we will take you through a summary of what ChatGPT is, the pros and cons, how you can use it for marketing and what to watch out for.

Who is the guide for?

This guide is for anyone looking to learn more about ChatGPT, but would be particularly useful for marketers in channel specialisms. E.g., Content marketers, social media marketers, SEO specialists etc. to learn how you could use the AI chatbot collaboratively to improve efficiency in your roles.

How is this Quick Win structured?

In this Quick Win you will learn:

  • AI adoption in marketing
  • What is ChatGPT?
  • How do I start using ChatGPT?
  • Testing ChatGPT
  • Weaknesses of ChatGPT
  • How can I use ChatGPT for marketing?

Note that since Microsoft have funded OpenAI, the creators of ChatGPT for several years, some of the functionality of ChatGPT will be incorporated into Microsoft Bing. At the time of writing, this isn’t available worldwide, so we recommend you continue using ChatGPT as explained in the section on Getting started with ChatGPT.
