Review your digital skills to get tailored recommendations to improve your marketing skills and business results

We are constantly updating content, improving the quality of our site for members and bringing new guides and tools to help your marketing needs.

We have recently updated our capability grader, which allows you to rate and score your company's digital marketing strategy and planning ability via the RACE framework. Today, we have also launched the companion Personalized Learning Plan which will assess your personal digital marketing skills. and is available to all members, from free to premium.

This new feature is available to all Smart Insights members. Be one of the first to get your Personalized Learning Plan.

What is the purpose of the Personalized Learning Plan

Our new tool enables you to:

  • Do a quick self-assessment of your skills across 25 key digital marketing activities marketing defined in the 5 areas of our RACE planning framework
  • Get a score to compare your overall knowledge
  • Get recommendations of what you need to learn to improve your knowledge
  • Get recommendations on the best resources to improve business results

Where can you find the Personalized learning Plan on the member's site?

A new icon will be displayed in the navigation menu of the member's area - below the red star.

How to complete the Personalized Learning Plan?

We've aimed to make this as simple and user-friendly as possible.

  • Choose knowledge level. Rate knowledge from low, medium or high across 25 key integrated multichannel marketing activities across RACE customer lifecycle
  • Choose business priority: low, medium or high

Personalized Learning Plan questions

Topics covered include strategy and governance, paid media, customer journeys, lead capture and profile, owned media and influencers, content marketing, multichannel selling, web personalization, email communications and much more. We have covered a wide range of every aspect of digital marketing to make sure you get the most out of this new tool.

Once you have answered all the questions, you will then be given a Digital Skills Score % based on your ability to plan, reach, act, convert, and engage, as seen below:

    • Review your feedback and personalized learning plan with recommendations, and mark off each area as completed when you’re happy with it
    • View a grid of recommended resources

The hope of this new tool is that our users will be able to grade themselves honestly so that we can give recommendations of guides, templates, and quick-wins that will help improve knowledge and skills.
