How to make digital brochures? loading

Hi Everyone.

Hope you can help me please:

I want to create a digital brochure which I can put on our website, social media channels and email marketing campaigns. I have access to Adobe InDesign and assume I can create a brochure through there.

However, I thought I'd ask here in case there are online brochure creators anyone know's of and/or any other advice if anyone has had experience creating digital brochures from a marketing perspective, e.g., best practice.

Hope this makes sense!

    Hi Gareth,

Digital brochures that you may be referring to created via InDesign are PDF based that can be designed and optimized for web. However InDesign primarily is a tool for print based publications as well. Other kind of digital brochures are more interactive include creating Apps for mobile devices such for the iPad obviously using different technology to create it.

To create an optimal digital brochure solution for your needs would depend on various factors, to name some: categorization of the industry, the product/service, target audience and objectives you wish to achieve.

Our methodology starts from briefing to understand such information, then conceptualizing process, then into designing.

Let me know if you need further advice or assistance, you may drop me an email.

    Hi Gareth

Indesign is the market leader in the creation process, but I would look more at what your customers/end users will be using to view your eBrochure. PDFs are great portable documents but they are not designed to carry large amounts of rich media. If the end users are happy downloading large files then PDF is an option.

You may find using HTML or a platform specific delivery tool may be a better option. HTML would be my recommendation as it will allow you to quickly re-purpose your content more effectively, so you could have a micro site or sub section of your main site with snippets of the brochure available, leading to a more interactive version built in HTML5 or using one of the conversion tools mentioned in the other posts for an ePub version, I’ve listed ones below I’ve used previously, they are all very similar with varying differences in functionality, the main differentiators are their approach to pricing.

The only consideration in the ePub version would be the delivery option, keeping it to the web is the most robust option which the above suppliers do, alternatively you could have an APP version which you will find is more engaging, MAG+ is a supplier that allows you to have multiple publications in one app, which may give you more options in the future, plus you can update existing publications that have already been published. This uses InDesign files and can also publish to Android, Windows and Apple platforms.

This is a link to their site, we have a publication publish on the Apple APP store if you want to see an example, they are printed items created in InDesign and then converted using the MAG+ tool.

Hope this helps and if you need anymore information let me know.
